Removable Partials in 77058
When choosing the perfect denture for you, there are a few things to consider. Depending on how many missing teeth you have, you may opt for a partial denture.
A removable partial denture is a very cost-effective way to complete your smile when you have multiple missing teeth but still have several healthy strong teeth remaining. Partial dentures can be made entirely of acrylic or have a metal base. Both acrylic and metal partials are designed with clasps that hook onto your natural teeth to secure your partial in place. Your partial denture can easily be removed to clean and brush your teeth and can be worn while eating.
Full Dentures in Clear Lake
When replacing an entire arch of teeth, you have many great options to choose from. Traditional full dentures have been the standard for replacing teeth for hundreds of years. Because of advances in technology, dentures have become more comfortable and more functional.
Typically, the teeth on your denture are made from porcelain and are fitted into an acrylic base designed to look like your gums. An upper denture features a plate, which covers the roof of your mouth. This plate provides suction to secure your denture in place. A lower denture is “U” shaped and rests on the gum and bone tissue. The muscles of your tongue and cheeks hold your lower denture in place.
While affordable and comfortable, dentures can become loose over time due to changes in bone structure. This can cause difficulty when speaking or eating. Which is why some people prefer an implant-supported variety instead.
Implant Supported Overdentures
An upgrade to traditional dentures is an implant supported overdenture. Commonly known as a snap-on denture. Implant supported overdentures look and feel just like traditional, removable dentures. The main difference is the placement of 2-4 small dental implants that are surgically anchored into the jaw bone. Your overdenture is then designed to snap onto the implants to secure it into place.
The implants prevent your overdenture from moving or rocking while speaking and eating yet is still easily removed to clean and brush your implants. Your implant supported overdenture will feel very natural.
All-on-4 Implant System
Similar to implant supported overdentures, the All-On-4 dental implants utilizes the placement of four surgically placed dental implants. These implants are extremely durable and can support the weight of a full arch of teeth. The All-On-4 system is different form snap on dentures in the fact that it is permanently fixed onto the implants.
The All-On-4 prosthesis is designed to look and feel more natural than traditional or snap on dentures. There is no plate in the roof of your mouth creating a very natural feel with no changes to your speech. Because the All-On-4 prosthesis are permanently attached to your implants, you will regain the bite strength you once had with your natural teeth. You can enjoy eating all your favorite foods and never have to worry about anyone seeing you without your teeth. While the All-On-4 dental implants are the more expensive investment for tooth replacement, it is by far the most durable, longest lasting, and cost-effective in terms of your long-term results.
